Detective Zach Grey joined the Northern York County Regional Police Department in 2012. He served in patrol, became a field training officer, and later joined the Criminal Investigations Division. On September 17, 2025, Zach was critically wounded during the Haar Road ambush. Zach experienced the incident from the perspective of fighting for his life after being critically wounded, concealed beneath the bushes, and determined to survive. His story continued long after he left Haar Road through multiple surgeries, physical recovery, grief, therapy, and the process of learning how to live forward after surviving an incident in which three of his fellow detectives were killed.
