Detective Jack C. Asper II has served with the Northern York County Regional Police Department for more than 25 years, beginning his career as a patrol officer before serving as a sergeant and later moving into criminal investigations. Long before entering law enforcement, Jack was drawn to helping others.  He served as a volunteer firefighter, EMT, and paramedic, and that foundation in emergency service remained part of who he was throughout his policing career. The medical training he received decades earlier would prove critical at Haar Road where he confronted an armed threat and then immediately turned his attention to his wounded colleagues and friends. His actions that day reflected not only more than two decades of law enforcement experience, but years of public service.
